FAQs of Kjeldahl Digestion & Distillation Units Combined:
Q: How is temperature controlled in the Kjeldahl Digestion & Distillation Unit?
A: Temperature control is managed through individual energy regulators and high-grade stainless steel heating plates, ensuring precise and uniform heating up to 450C. This allows for optimized digestion conditions for accurate nitrogen estimation.
Q: What laboratory applications can this unit be used for?
A: The unit is designed for protein and nitrogen estimation via the Kjeldahl method, commonly applied in food, environmental, agricultural, and chemical laboratories for sample analysis and research.
Q: When should routine cleaning and maintenance be performed?
A: Routine cleaning and maintenance are recommended after each batch operation or weekly, depending on sample throughput. Detachable components, such as digestion tubes and hoses, allow for efficient and quick cleaning.
Q: Where can the Kjeldahl unit be installed within a laboratory?
A: The system is designed for bench top installation, making it suitable for standard or specialized laboratory setups. Its compact dimensions also ensure compatibility with limited workspace environments.
Q: What is the process for protein/nitrogen estimation using this equipment?
A: Samples undergo digestion in borosilicate tubes using the heating block, followed by distillation where ammonia is separated. The efficient condenser with continuous water flow aids in collecting the distillate, which is measured for nitrogen content using manual or optional auto-burette mounting.
Q: How does the integrated exhaust system benefit users?
A: The built-in fume exhaust manifold with vent tube effectively extracts and removes hazardous fumes generated during digestion and distillation, improving laboratory safety and air quality for users.
Q: What are the key benefits of using this combined unit over separate systems?
A: The combined design streamlines the entire Kjeldahl analysis workflow, reduces turnaround time, provides precise control, enhances safety, and ensures compliance with ISO/BIS standardsall while offering easy cleaning and reliable batch operation.
